Hey, fellow foodie rebel. I’m Julia and I’m thrilled you’re here!

I started this blog for many reasons but first and foremost, to do things differently, to open people’s eyes to the variety of paths they can walk—paths that stray from the usual currents.
Food is fuel, and if we put the wrong fuel into our machine, our body, we don’t feel so good. Knowing what kind of fuel you need for your body is a game changer! And this is where intuitive eating and homemade food come in.
Donut Follow the Crowd is NOT just another food blog that follows some food trend—it’s about eating what feels good, what makes YOU feel good.
Food should be adaptable because no one size fits all! I mainly eat vegan, but I do consume certain animal products too. My choices don’t fit in ANY of the common diet categories and that’s okay. I don’t care, I don’t need a label. I need food that makes ME feel good.
My emphasis lies on from-scratch, wholesome and nourishing meals that offer flexibility & swaps so anyone can enjoy my recipes. Particularly, in times, when food allergies are a big (and very real) thing!

My Eat-What-Feels-Good-Philosophy
Many years ago, I went vegetarian, finally realising that I don’t have to eat meat if I absolutely hate it and if it doesn’t feel so good. Going vegan quickly followed, but never fully. I just couldn’t—although I did fight my body’s cravings for some time!
Eventually, I noticed: This isn’t me. This is crazy! Why do I listen to other people’s opinions, take on their choices, follow some sort of food trend, and completely ignore my body’s needs? EveryBody is different, and every body needs different foods to be healthy and strong.
On top of that, out of convenience, we buy food instead of ingredients, weakening our body with preservatives, additives, and too much sugar, fat, and salt. Ever read the ridiculously long ingredients list of a vegan schnitzel? Or of something as simple as mayonnaise?
Homemade food doesn’t have to be complicated or take hours of your precious time! Healthy food can be made simple and this food blog shows you how.
